About the Frazier Mountain Area

Nestled in the Los Padres National Forest with the elevation ranging from 4,000 feet to 6,000 feet is a natural resort well known for beautiful clear blue skies and ideal climactic conditions.

Just three miles west of Interstate 5 is the small town of Frazier Park and the office of Frazier Mountain Real Estate, serving the hill since 1977. Frazier Park and its surrounding communities are approximately 60 miles north of Los Angeles and 40 miles south of Bakersfield.

Summer temperatures are cool, around 85° in midday. Average winter temperature is 30° to 40°, with snow expected between the months of November and March, the last snow of the season usually around Mother’s day.

Mt. Pinos and Mt. Abel are ideal during the winter months for cross-country skiing and snowplay, with an elevation of almost 9,000 feet.

The Frazier Park area is a developing community with clean air, friendly people, schools, churches, and a variety of stores for shopping.

Recreation

Mt. Pinos is a well organized recreation area with three public campgrounds. The best cross-country skiing in southern California is found here, with more than 4 miles of cross-country trails cut by private businesses in the area. Hiking and mountain biking are also very popular during the spring and summer months.

Frazier Mountain Park, 3 miles west of I-5, is a nice, large county park offering barbecue and picnicking facilities and fishing. It has a basketball court, softball field, and community hall.

Hungry Valley State Vehicular Recreation Area with overnight facilities and over 19,00 acres for offroad vehicles is directly south of the Frazier Park area near Gorman.

Swimming, boating, water-skiing, and fishing are enjoyed at nearby pyramid Lake and Quail Lake offers fishing. Pine Mountain Club, a private community, maintains tennis, golf, swimming, and equestrian facilities for its residents and guests.
